Yeah, it’s tricky. I finally gave up sharing my work on Facebook. I found myself getting bummed out by the number of friends and family who weren’t reading / sharing / commenting on my posts. Once I realized they aren’t my audience — the people I’m really writing for — I stopped promoting my work to them. I get a much better response from my fellow readers / writers, so that’s who I share my work with these days.
