What a beautiful story, and how incredible that your daughter has such an amazing talent. (I have zero musical ability, so I’m envious of anyone who can sing and play naturally.)

Your article reminded me of a time when I went to see Ani DiFranco (my favorite artist) in concert. She told a very funny story about Prince inviting her to his studio to play on one of his songs. When she arrived, he finished recording a ballad — just his voice and piano — and then turned to her and said, “It’s in G.” She then had a momentary panic because she has no idea how to read music and didn’t know G from, well, anything. She managed to pull it off nonetheless. Sounds like your daughter has a similar talent.
