Such a beautiful piece, and so true. There are many moments of my son’s early years I don’t miss, but I’m always surprised when some seemingly minor change to our routine makes my heart ache. He’s six now, and our days of him snuggling on my lap are over. He’s a “big boy” now, as he likes to remind me often. I can feel him slowly pulling away from me and becoming his own independent person. It’s bittersweet.

The changes are hard, but I try to remind myself that there are so many amazing moments ahead and that makes it a little less sad.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece.
