Sorry if I missed some of the points of your article — I did read through it, but I think my mind immediately went on the defense when I read your opening paragraphs.

I think you’re absolutely right in that not many people know where their money is going. And yes, there are some organizations that don’t spend the money wisely. I just wish more people would do as you have done — ask to see budgets, get to know the organization, research their spending habits — and make decisions on which organizations to support. Many just assume if one not-for-profit isn’t doing as it should then none are, and they refuse to support any organizations at all.
