People suck. And sadly, the ones who suck the most are often the ones we’re supposed to be closest to. But that’s why you have friends (including here on Medium) who will be there to offer support and (virtual) hugs when family lets you down.

I know you already know this, but don’t let anyone take your stories from you. They’re yours to tell. If they don’t like what you have to say, let them write their own f’ing stories.
