I’m so sorry for the abuse you suffered. I think your final sentence: “if you took away privilege of all kinds from those who ‘ make it’ you might see who really couldn’t do it on their own after all” hits the nail on the head. If we all were to start out on the same footing, with the same resources, so many would be further ahead in life, and maybe a few of the “experts” would be lagging behind.
