I think we’re all in the same boat — our friends don’t always care about our work, and that can hurt. But as I said in the post, that’s not who we’re writing for. We just have to keep plugging away and know the writing will attract readers over time.

If nothing else, it’s nice to know we writers aren’t alone in this crazy journey. We all experience the same challenges at one time or another.
