I just received my first rejection from a literary journal yesterday, and I was crushed. Although I SAID I never expected my first submission to be accepted, in my mind I could not only see my story in print but knew exactly what I was going to say in my social media feeds to promote the exciting news. Thanks for the reality check, and for giving me hope.
