I agree; it’s a trickle-down effect.

Everyone should have the opportunity to better their situation but to imply that someone is a failure for not making drastic changes is insulting. We don’t all start off on the same footing and I think it’s easy to forget that sometimes. Especially, as you pointed out, when the message is that those who have less than others are considered lazy.
